Oh & thanks nicole for the note <3
kailyn
Here’s a little something I want to say before I leave the team, especially since handing over ceremony is just round the corner.
To the Stc swimmers:
Keep your passion for swimming alive. When things get tough, remember that it’ll always be better. For remember, when things seem to be in its darkest, it only means the sun would soon rise up. Press on. Never give up.
Go for trainings religiously, and focus on being the best that you can be. When it seems like its no use, just remember that many have walked this path before you. And they all have succeeded. You are not alone.
Remember the times at sports camp. The times at training. The times at nationals. The crying, the laughing, the hugging, the cheering, the smiling and the PASSION. The common love for swimming that we all shared burning in our hearts. Remember the successes and learn from the failures. In our own little way, STC SWIM TEAM can shine brightly alongside St Nicks and Sports School. Remember as Joycelyn puts it, the swimming pool is our home, and chlorine water is our blood. The love for swimming runs deep in us all.
Keep striving for your Personal Bests. Never stop breaking new ground, and always strive to be better. Train for yourself. Compete for yourself, and bring glory to your school. Each and everyone of you has the potential to be the best. Have discipline and strive for excellence. Don’t settle for anything less.
Know that whatever the outcome, as long as you have done your best, the rest of the team (old and new) is proud of you. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.
To the sec 4 swimmers: I love you all and all these 4 years have indeed helped me to learn more about you all. It has brought us closer together and the times at sports camp, training, nationals would not be forgotten. The friends I made in the team are those I intend to keep for life.
To the sec 2 and 3 swimmers: The Stc swim team depends on you all now, lead the juniors to greater heights and not lead them astray. Don’t let your seniors down. go for training regularly and on time. and set the right example for the younger ones. Be a team. BE ONE UNITED STC SWIM TEAM.
To the sec 1 swimmers: the new team members, barely a year old, strive for excellence and do well. You all have a lot of potential and have done extremely well so far. Take every mini-com like the real thing and don’t let your guard down. Take every sprint during training like the real nationals and be consistently good in your timings.
STC swim team, reach for the STARS! And settle for nothing less than the best. Strive for excellence. As ACS puts it, ‘the best is yet to be’. DUH! Since we are the ones that are the best.
Love. nicole
